SVG Mobile in Japanese

広瀬行夫 (Yukio Hirose) has published a translation of the SVG Mobile specification in Japanese: Mobile SVG プロファイル:SVG Tiny と SVG Basic. To facilitate comparison with the normative English text, the Japanese and English versions of each paragraph or section are displayed together.

BeatWare Mobile Designer is released

Beatware Mobile Designer, an SVG authoring tool specifically aimed at animated, mobile SVG Tiny content creation, is released. It allows editing of other SVG ptofiles, but has automated checking to ensure that only valid SVG Tiny content is exported. A trial download is available.

Access ships NetFront SVG Viewer

Access is shipping their NetFront Mobile Client Suite, a multimedia-enabled application stack for handset manufacturers that runs on Linux and other embedded operating systems. The suite features an XHTML Web browser, multimedia messaging (MMS) client, personal information manager (PIM), SyncML client, SMIL player, Tiny-compliant SVG Viewer and Java MIDP support.
